Her Story

I prefer media that reflects back to me the realities of the world I live in. TV shows where people eat cereal and don’t wear bras and sleep without makeup. TV shows where racism and sexism and discrimination is recognized and discussed and confronted. TV shows where I see people who think like me, who look like me, who embody a life that I strive for. And so I watched all of season one of Her Story (directed by Sydney Freeland) in one night, and recommend that you do the same. This show addresses what it is like to be trans, and what it is like to appropriately educate yourself on trans issues – while underlining how important it is that we all do so.

So go watch it. And donate money so that these wonderful content makers can do more good.
